Message from the Chief

Hello, my name is Chet Guintini, and I am the Fire Chief for the City of Los Banos. The department is a full service department providing fire protection, fire suppression, inspections, public education, fire responders for medical aids, and all types of technical rescue operations.  The department operates four (4) front line engines, one reserve engine, one OES engine, one ladder truck, two rescue units, water tender, and other service vehicles.

The Fire Department operates with 18 full time staff and 32 volunteer fire fighters providing the community with excellent service.  The Fire Department's goals and objectives are to continue to provide excellent service with hard working, skilled, and well-trained fire fighters, with a strong customer based orientation and service.
