Water is one of our community’s most valuable natural resources. During the warmer months, lawns, plants and trees may require additional water, but using water efficiently remains important throughout the year.
Residents can help conserve water by following the City’s landscape watering schedule, checking irrigation systems for leaks or overspray, and preventing unnecessary water runoff.
Landscape Watering Schedule
Landscape watering is limited to three days per week based on your street address:
- Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Even-numbered addresses: Sunday, Wednesday and Friday
- Monday: No landscape watering
Watering Hours
Landscape watering is not permitted between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Watering During Rain
Landscape irrigation should not occur during measurable rainfall or within 48 hours following measurable rainfall. Irrigation controllers should be turned off or placed in a rain-off setting when appropriate.
Help Prevent Water Waste
Residents and businesses can help conserve water by making sure irrigation systems are operating properly and water is being used efficiently.
Examples of water waste include:
- Overwatering lawns or landscaping.
- Allowing irrigation water to run off onto streets, sidewalks or other areas.
- Watering during measurable rainfall or within 48 hours after rainfall.
- Watering on a day that is not permitted under the City’s watering schedule.
- Allowing sprinklers to unnecessarily water sidewalks or other hard surfaces.
- Failing to follow the City’s established watering schedule.
Water Conservation Violations
Violations of the City’s water conservation requirements may result in the following fines:
- First violation: $15
- Second violation: $30
- Third violation: $75
Every Drop Counts
Simple actions such as repairing leaks, adjusting sprinklers, preventing runoff and following the City’s watering schedule can help protect our community’s water supply.
